Tip #6 Social Media Posting Tips To Get On Lockdown

By now you know that social media is not an option it’s the way it is now. Using social media to grow your business, generate leads and build a brand may seem like a huge task, and in some ways it is.

However, keep these basic steps in mind when you craft your posts to improve your chances of social media success.

1/ Posting Schedule - start by creating a posting schedule and stick to it. For busy builders and tradespeople we know you don’t have much time, however, it’s wise to stick to at least 3 posts per week to grow your business.  Try building your posting schedule around particular themes to stay on track:

  • Monday ~ Jobsite Progress
  • Wednesday ~ Meet the team
  • Friday ~ Inspiration / plans / future

2/ Post Consistently - This follows on from point number 1, and it’s important to be reiterated that in order to build your brand and a following online you have to post consistently to keep your audience engaged.

3/ Quality Over Quantity - Before posting ask yourself, is this content relevant to your audience? is it helpful? Is it entertaining? Make sure your content is valuable to your audience.

4/ Interact - One of the most important aspects of running a social media account is interacting with those who engage with your posts. Replying to comments and following up to messages in a timely fashion will help build rapport and trust with your audience. This can be a game changer.

If you’re sharing a link, ask for feedback and opinions or tag someone so they’ll reply. Think of your social media posts as a part of a conversation that others will add to.

5/ Watch Your Competitors - is there a competitor who is absolutely smashing it on social media, while yours feels like a ghost town?  Rather than getting down about it, start to analyze what they’re doing that you aren’t.

Look at:

  • The content they post
  • Who they follow
  • Who’s following them
  • How often they post
  • What time of the day they post
  • What kind of headlines they use in their posts
  • Their most popular posts

If you follow these simple tips, you’ll be well on your way to building an engaged audience.

Happy Posting!
